Sam4s 650 Cash Drawer overview

The following blog entries will be a list of common cash drawer problems that I have experienced while servicing Sam4s 650's. The reason I have decided to break apart one topic into multiple blog entries is to keep them short and sweet.

The symptoms of the cash drawer not working properly includes but is not limited to the drawer not closing, the drawer not opening, the drawer making loud scraping noises while opening or closing, and finally spontaneous opening of the cash drawer. When troubleshooting these problems one must realize that the cash drawer is the most used part of the register, without it the register would be mostly useless. Besides the printer this is the only moving part of the register. Because this is a moving part it is not uncommon for excessive wear to eventually cause a failure with the drawer. For this reason the manufacturer has made it relatively easy to replace the cash drawer on the register. More information to follow.
